Defense and Security

Wide Area Motion Imagery (WAMI) was originally deployed for some of the US military’s most difficult intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) challenges.

Defeat the Network

The canonical use case was detection and suppression of improvised explosive device (IED) networks. Through persistent monitoring of large areas with sufficient resolution to see pedestrians, IED emplacements were observed and bad actor networks were uncovered.

Persistent Surveillance

The IED use case has many of the characteristics of other military value propositions – namely, requirements to continuously observe large areas and interactions involving people and vehicles. Waivtec’s systems are ideally suited to this concept of operation, and our latest product has significantly enhanced performance compared to standard WAMI offerings.

Border Monitoring

WAIV-WAMI is also ideal for monitoring large border areas and critical infrastructure (e.g., bases and ports), providing both situational awareness and localized activity monitoring. By increasing the area over which threats are identified and extending the range at which they’re detected, WAIV systems can increase the time available to formulate a response. Waivtec’s system is a perfect supplement to existing security networks and fills many of the gaps in existing solutions.
